The Elements of our Stance
Life-Stances in General
Various groups pursue various aims, from the fleeting to the far-reaching.
If a group pursues an aim they see as containing all worthwhile aims, we call it a community.
A community shares a life-stance comprising a creed, ethos and assessment.
A creed (kerygma, proclamation, preaching) comprises the community's key beliefs.
An ethos (didache, doctrine, teaching) comprises the community's key values.
An assessment comprises the key applications of the creed and ethos to current circumstances.
If the culture of the society around a certain community evolves, the community's stance needs to evolve with it, not to conform to the surrounding culture but to confront it afresh. The creed and ethos now need to focus on beliefs and values that previously went without saying, and no longer need mention beliefs and values that are no longer controversial. And the assessment is even more likely to need to change.
No community can afford to include members who persistently either challenge its stance or neglect or hinder its assessment. Ongoing dialogue with such dissenters may be useful, but needs to be kept distinct from the community's internal discussions, to avoid confusing the community's stance.
The Christian Relaunch Life-Stance
Our Creed: The "Gospel of Christ" (the evangellion).
Our Ethos: Androcracy and Propertarianism and their key implications.
Our Assessment: That all reborn souls must be ready to fight to relaunch God's nation.
Our Stancebook
Our Home Page gives a Summary of our stance.
In our Stancebook:
The Contents Page gives a Breakdown of our stance into Items.
Each item has a link to an Explanation that expounds and advocates the item.
Throughout the Explanations:
Statements of what "We" think are just unpacking the item, and if you reject any of those statements you are rejecting our stance.
Statements of what "I" think are just the opinion of that page's author. They are intended to clarify our stance and to grow a body of thinking based on it, but you can reject them without rejecting our Stance.
A page may contain both types, and we hope that the distinction is clear.
