Respect (aka Dealings)

Respect is the first realm to involve valuing other selves (as opposed to using them), and is a root of all the other realms that do that.

Respect refines animal territoriality into a regard for other souls.

Examples of respect:

Being frank, respecting the right of every soul (man or maid) to be told no lies.

Respecting the right of every man to his family and to his and ther produce.

Respect is a root both of conversation (which is inherently interactive) and of altruism (which is not). A respecter requires no response; he merely, in his own mind, positively evaluates another selfhood, though of course this tends to lead on to conversation.

Vocabulary

Some thinkers say "justice" to mean good standards in general, but to me it seems the right word for this particular standard.

"Timeic" is from Greek time, (not to be confused with English "time"), often translated "honour" but connoting a duty towards all souls.

Greek sebas is often translated "respect" but connotes a recognition of specific merit or position so seems less suitable here.
